Creepy Deep Sea Fish

One of the scariest fish in the world, the deep sea Fang-tooth Fish is an ugly sea creature indeed. Rare fish species and very scary looking.

Meet the Fangtooth Fish

Every now and the something seems to swim right out of your nightmares and up from the depths of the ocean, and for me that is the fang-tooth fish. While they do have disproportionately large fang like teeth, they are small only growing to about 6.5 inches and harmless to humans and are one of the deepest living fish found living up to 16,400 feet below the surface of the water. worlds scariest fishTheir range is global, and they may thrive in schools, or go it alone. This scary looking little bugger’s head is covered by a thin skin, and is riddled with mucus cavities. Its two largest fangs are so long, the fish has evolved sockets on both sides of the brain just to fit them properly when the mouth is closed. The fangtooth’s teeth are the largest teeth of any fish, proportionate to its body size. The fish is also equipped with long finger like bones called gill rakers that enable them to extract plankton from the water. They also feed on other fish and squid, and possibly use chemoreception to find their prey, luckily bumping into something they can eat. During the day they stay in the dark depths, rising upwards at night to feed in the starlight, only to return back to the cold dark depths by morning. Snake Eats Man - Truth Explained

Here are a few recent images of massive snakes that have stories behind them claiming to have swallowed a person. These snakes are huge and they did eat something very large, but what they ate, was not a man.

Here is the truth behind the images.

Image #1

snake-swallows-human

Fake Story: A drunk guy who passed out by a liquor store was laying on the ground when he was attacked by a giant snake and swallowed before anyone could help him. This claimed to be from a news site in Attapaday, Kerla.

Truth: This reticulated python did not swallow a human. It was found in the streets by locals and hauled away from town so that it would remain safe. Although they did not cut the snake open, it was believed to have eaten a pig.

Image #2

The Truth Behind “Security Guard Eaten by Snake”

Fake Story: A security guard was said to have been eaten by a giant snake in Borneo.

Truth: Besides the obvious photo-shop, the snake in the picture is an African Rock Python who is native to Africa which do not live in Indonesia.

Here are more images of huge snakes that people have claimed to have eaten a person. Some of these are obviously fake, however, a few of them are pretty convincing. Real or Fake? You decide.

So the question that begs to be answered is can a snake really eat a man. The two biggest snakes on earth are the reticulated python and the green anaconda. While these snakes certainly grow big enough to eat very large animals, eating a fully grown adult is a much more difficult task.

This is mainly due to the fact that a human’s shoulders are just two broad which makes it nearly impossible for a snake to swallow. The adult man or woman would have to be much smaller than your average size person and the snake would have to be one of the largest in the world.

Komodo Dragon Facts

The Komodo dragon is the largest living species of lizard in the world. A dangerous and deadly predator, one bite is all it takes to kill it’s prey.

Meet the Deadly Komodo Dragon

Growing up to 10 ft, weighing up to 150 lbs an can live up to 30 years. You will find this member of the monitor lizard family on the Indonesian Islands of Komodo, Rinca, flores, Gilimotang and Padar.

Their size in the past has been attributed to island gigantism, because there are no other carnivorous animals on the islands where they live allowing them to dominate the ecosystem.

komodo-facts-dragonTheir primary diet consists of deer, but the dragon has been known to hunt a variety of invertebrates, birds and mammals and have been reported to attack humans

Mating for these magnificent beasts begins between may and Augusts with the female laying her eggs in September.

The female komodo dragon digs a nesting hole where she deposits about 20 eggs which incubate for seven to eight months and hatch in April.

Cannabilistic adults can prey on younger komodo dragons, so they dwell in trees to keep them safe from them and other predators.

While the saliva has septic pathogens, in 2009 researchers using MRI discovered the presence of two venom glands in the lower jaw of a terminally ill specimen They are considered a vulnerable species with approximately 4 to 5,000 living in the wild.

In 1980, the Komodo National Park was founded to protect the the dragon populations of Komodo, Rinca and Padar which a previous population had become extinct due to poaching.

Troll Hybrid Animal Explained

What is this strange looking creature?

The image first surfaced in late 2011 and over the last year or so a number of viewers have asked me what it is, with some making claims that it is a rabbit-human hybrid, a demonic offspring, an alien baby, or a troll captured by hunters in Namibia.

Truth Behind Rabbit Hybrid aka Namibia Troll

Well I couldn’t really find anything interesting linking it to a demon or alien baby. So let’s take a look at the other 2 claims and then sum it up with perhaps a more scientific explanation.

The Rabbit-Human Hybrid Theory

So first off, is it even possible to cross breed a rabbit and a human?

Apparently yes…In 2003 Scientists in Shanghai Second Medical University succeeded in producing stem cells by “merging rabbit eggs and human skin cells.”

This was the first human-animal hybrid ever produced. A few days later after extracting the stem cells the “chimeras” were destroyed.

So is it possible that science could produce such an atrocity as seen in this picture?

Looking closely at the image the creature does appear to have rabbit like ears protruding from the back of its head.

However, because rabbits and humans are far too different genetically, even though scientist were able to produce stem cells,

it would be virtually impossible for a viable fetus to ever be produced.

Namibia Troll

This story came in November of 2012 When the picture appeared in the online version of the Australian Newspaper “The Daily Telegraph” with the headline reading “Bizarre muppet-like beast discovered.”

The site went on to report that in the southwest African country of Namibia the creature was spotted foraging for food by a hunting party.

Shocked by the discovery one of the hunters shot at and wounded the creature… who… in its attempt to get away… led them back to a nearby den where similar creatures were hiding.

The wounded creature suddenly attacked the hunters who then shot and killed it, while all of the troll creatures escaped into the dense brush.

According to the report, local authorities are in possession of the creatures remains with a full investigation underway.

There has been no follow up to the story since.

With so many stories surrounding this single image one can only assume it is a hoax, or at the very least, a misinterpretation of the story surrounding the photo.

Perhaps the best explanation comes from one of my favorite cryptozoologist Karl Shuker. He explains how in the photograph you can see what looks like an umbilical cord and that the creature is covered in a slimy blood like substance which suggest that this is a deformed new born baby.

Cookiecutter Shark

Did you know that there is a shark that is also classified as a parasite. Parasites by rule hurt their prey but don’t kill them.  Meet the cookie cutter shark. The only parasite in the shark family.

They average 20 inches long, about the length of the average ferret and are one of the smallest sharks in the world, the smallest being the dwarf lantern shark of Colombia and Venezuela.

Meet the Cookiecutter Shark

The cookie cutter shark used to be called the cigar shark and it’s pretty easy to see why. So where did the name cookiecutter shark come from?

First a little about its lifestyle and it will all become clear.  They live in the deep warm coastal waters, near islands, around the equator. I don’t mean kind of deep. These guys spend their days at depths equal to that of the Titanic Wreck. At night they come to the surface to feed, , and they have one of the best evolutionary fish lures in the world.

strange-deep-sea-creaturesLike many deep sea creatures they are bioluminescent. Their bellies are covered by photophores which emit a greenish glow that looks like a smaller fish to anything below it.Their bioluminescence is so strong that they’ll continue to glow up to 3 hours after they die.

As for the hunt their technique is to wait for something to try and eat them from below, or just pass by, then they whip around and form  a tight suction with their mouth on the attacker. Then they turn in a circle and carve out a chunk of the animal and swallow it before letting go.  The result is an almost perfectly round crater looking holeresembling one made by a cookie cutter, hence the name change from cigar shark.

They aren’t choosy about their victims either. They attack seals, whales, dolphins, large fish, megamouth sharks, and even nuclear submarines. There have been a few recorded cases of cookie cutter sharks taking a bite out of the rubber sonar domes of passing submarines. Sometimes inflicting enough damage to cause an oil leak and send them back to port.

But don’t worry there’ve been very few recorded attacks on humans, since they only come up from the depths at night and they’re so small they’re not deadly. They’re parasites remember.

Lowland Streaked Tenrec

The lowland streaked tenrec is another strange animal that happens to live in Madagascar, an island in Africa. They look like a shrew, and a hedgehog decided to have babies.

No their not like Ligers, they just LOOK like a cross breed, though they are unique among tenrecs because they’re active night AND day, but what makes them really special is how they communicate.

Meet the Lowland Streaked Tenrec

They look like a shrew, and a hedgehog decided to have babies. No their not like Ligers, they just LOOK like a cross breed, though they are unique among tenrecs because they’re active night AND day, but what makes them really special is how they communicate.

Have you ever heard of stridulation? It’s the term used when an animal produces sound by rubbing together body parts, like a cricket’s chirp. These tenrec are the only mammals that can do it, no human snapping doesn’t count. With their stubby little legs they definitely don’t do it grasshopper style, so how then? Actually they use there quills.

They can rub their quills together and it makes a high pithed ultrasound that can only be heard by humans using microphones specially designed to hear bat sonar. The tenrecs sound is believed to be part communication and POSSIBLY, part navigation at night, similar to the way bats use their sonar.

Those same quills act as a defense mechanism to. But these guys don’t just roll up into a ball like a hedgehog when predators come by. They’re nice enough to give predators a little warning.

First Lowland Streaked Tenrec will make a “crunch” and “putt-putt” sound when they get agitated. Next they’ll raise the spines around their neck and point them at the predator, which is often a fossa or Malagasy Mongoose, then Step 3, which is the best, , this little 5 to 6.5 inch, 7 oz animal will charge its attacker and head butts it!, driving it’s quills into its opponents nose or paws, owe. So if you’re ever in Madagascar don’t surprise one of these guys or you may end up in a bit of pain yourself.

Real Mermaid Body Discovered?

What was discovered on this beach today? A strange looking corpse of a humanoid creature that appears to resemble a mermaid. But mermaids don’t exist right?

(Video Being Uploaded Soon)

The creature clearly has the distinguishing upper body features of a female human with the lower body of a fish complete with scales and a tail.

Is this finally evidence that mermaids exist or just another clever internet hoax?

Mermaids have appeared in folklore of many cultures throughout history.

discovered-cryptid-mermaid-August

One of the earliest stories came from Ancient Assyria and involved the goddess Atargatis turning herself into a mermaid out of shame after accidentally killing her human lover.

The waters apparently couldn’t hide her amazing beauty, which is why she appeared as human above the water and as a fish below.

More often in folklore , Mermaids appearances coincided with perilous events such as storms, shipwrecks and drownings, but in some traditions they have also been reported as benevolent, granting favors to humans they fall in love with.

Mermaids are closely related to the sirens of Greek Mythology. Sirens were dangerous beautiful creatures who lured sailors to their watery deaths by enchanting them with their music and voices.

mermaid-found-today

Did you know while exploring the Caribbean even the famous explorer Christopher Columbus claimed to have seen mermaids?

What does science believe?

The U.S. National Ocean Service stated in 2012 that no evidence of a mermaid has ever been found.

So what did Columbus and other sailors throughout history see on their voyages?

Many believe that most of these historical sightings were animals like Dugongs and Manatees that belonged to a biological order called Sirenia, which of course got its name from the mythological sirens.

No back story was uploaded along with these pictures and the creature in this picture does not look like either a manatee, or dugong, so then what else could it be?
